Dollhouse
In the dystopian genre, there are multiple television shows that may be classified to be under it, but I decided to give the show Dollhouse a shot. It seemed interesting that the main person to be chosen would be a female, so I for sure thought it'd be good. I decided to to watch the first 3 episodes to get a feel for the series, however I was let down. In this show of Dollhouse, the main character is Echo (Eliza Dushku), whom is just a doll to these experimenters. She has somehow been kidnapped and is used by these people. The people in charge have her in developed a cult where they erase the minds of all the "dolls" they have kidnapped, creating them to be anything they want. By this I mean that all of the "dolls" are transformed to be secret agents under the control Adelle Dewitt (Olivia Williams). They then use these people as secret agents/ rescuers but illegally. I say illegally because these people have no idea what they are doing and are put in danger, as well as the fact that no one knows they are being manipulated. This shows a sense of Dystopia because of the unfairness and inappropriate treatment they are receiving. You can tell that none of the people in that "Dollhouse" is happy and Echo clearly shows it. She doesn't get to live her real life and has her life on the line. However there is one person who knows about the "Dollhouse" and is trying his best to prove it an shut it down. This T.V shows the scariness of a hidden cruel facility. Overall this show is very cheesy, or so in my opinion.
